OUTSTANDING MORAL DEBTS
There
are a number of people who hold "outstanding moral debts" against me
and their claims are justified. Dan and I went out to dinner this evening and,
I admit; a pall of sadness began to descend upon me thinking about this. I
thought: How can I be in a state of Joy when there are people who I
love who are justifiably angry at me and I don't see a way to make amends? What
right do I have to be Happy if others are unhappy because of things I did?
And then I saw in a flash: In a state of sadness, I most certainly will not be on a level of insight and "energy" high enough to be able to generate a solution. All I will do is be sad as a penance, but that will bring about no rectification.
THE ONLY CHANCE FOR RECTIFICATION TO OCCUR IS IF I WILL MYSELF TO BE JOYOUS DESPITE THE MORAL DEBTS I OWE.
Only then will I have a hope of reaching the Creative Moral Intelligence needed to find a solution to these problems.
We need to attain and sustain Joy not because it feels good. I'll say that again. We need to attain and sustain Joy not because it feels good.
We need to sustain Joy because it is our only chance of reaching the Wisdom necessary to rectify our Worlds.
I am not talking about being in a state of blissful ignorance. I am talking about being on the highest level of creative moral intelligence that we can so as to be able to see the solutions to problems that we cannot see from lower levels.
God *doesn't* require that we suffer and make ourselves miserable creatures because we have made mistakes stemming from the fact that we were unhappy. That thinking is wholly in error, it's cruel and it's useless and history proves that it does not fix anything.
We need to attain JOY not for ourselves but for the Creation.
