PROZBUL: FAITH Ltd.
Prozbul
was instituted during the time of Hordus (Herod). That is to say, it was an act
of fear, not faith.
Every
Mitzvah is important to keep and to do. Each Mitzvah requires different
moral-spiritual strengths and develops various moral and spiritual strength
Shmitta
is the end of the line in absolute trust in HaShem. Shmitta is the Mitzvah that
separates those who have absolute trust in HaShem and HaShem's word and those
who just do not. Whatever their strengths may be, and every strength is to be
respected and admired, it must be admitted that those who do not fervently
desire to keep Shimitta are lacking in faith and in courage and their
attachment to HaShem is provisional, reserved and partial
The
performance of each separate Mitzvah also creates the forms of the various
phenomena which we see in the world.
Those
who do not call for the keeping of Shmitta are those whose trust in God's
faithfulness is not as great as their fear of the little Herods in the world.
Those
who do not call for the keeping of Shmitta are also those who do not desire
justice and peace in the world with all their hearts.
While
we admire and respect the strengths of our Rabbis, if they do not have the
courage that it takes to demand the observance of Shmitta, if they are not
thirsting for justice; they are not fit to be the Shepherds of HaShem's flock.
